MATT – Vice President

Matt is a country boy at heart who spent summers working on his family’s Holt County ranch and working as a carpenter for a local homebuilder.

That construction experience led Matt to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where he graduated with a degree in construction management. Matt began his construction career at Kiewit, where he estimated and managed large-scale commercial projects around the Omaha metro area and out of state for a decade. He joined Echelon in 2018.

Matt spends his days coordinating subcontractor trades, managing job schedules and communicating with clients. He enjoys digging into the details, solving problems and delivering quality products.

Darren – Project manager

A native of Omaha, Darren spent much of his childhood on the baseball field, mowing grass, and finding any way possible to stay busy. His parents helped him cultivate a strong work ethic at a young age.

Darren graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a construction management degree that initially landed him in commercial construction. His fascination with new homes eventually led him to custom residential construction.

Darren knows that every builder’s goal is to build dream homes, and he believes that this all starts by making the build process fun for everyone involved. His favorite part of any job is developing relationships with clients and walking them through the fine details of their new home.

Darren and his wife Sarah live in Bennington with their three girls.

SCOTT – SUPERINTENDENT

Scott caught the construction bug by age 5, bouncing around job sites with his uncle who was a builder in the Randolph, Neb., area and his father who had the hands-on knowledge to do anything from fixing a car to plumbing and carpentry.

Scott is an Air Force veteran and graduated from Peru State College with a bachelor’s degree in industrial tech/construction management. Introduced to Echelon in 2015, Scott brings 30 years of building experience to the Echelon team.

Scott likes to surround himself with people who are similar to him: honest, hardworking, have attention to details, and team-oriented. Echelon has been the perfect fit.

When he’s not in the trenches with various sub contractors or meeting with clients, Scott enjoys his free time with his wife Erin and their three children doing outdoorsy activities or taking surprise trips.

CHELSEA – Realtor

Chelsea brings real estate expertise to Echelon.

Chelsea graduated with her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and worked as a nurse for eight years. But she always had a passion for home design and real estate. In 2019, she followed those passions and made the leap to become a realtor.

Chelsea loves seeing the finished projects and helping clients realize their dream home. When she’s not helping make design selections or assisting clients, Chelsea loves spending time with Zach and their two wonderful kids.

EMILY – Social media

If you see an Echelon post on Facebook or Instagram, Emily probably made it. She graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in journalism. Today she works in government communications and helps out Echelon.

Emily enjoys the family and entrepreneurial aspects of Echelon. It’s rewarding to see Matt and Zach build homes, but also build the business itself. Emily’s enjoys popping in on jobsites and sharing progress with our online friends and followers.

Emily stays busy between work and chasing after her and Matt’s two kiddos.
